If you want a successful orthodontic journey with Invisalign®, then you need to take good care of your aligner. This is because keeping your aligner in tip-top shape can help you avoid orthodontic and dental problems and consequences. So, our orthodontist, Dr. Ramin Moradi, encourages you to keep your aligner in a pristine and functional condition by following these instructions:

-Rinse your aligner each time you take it out of your mouth. It’s best to rinse it with warm, not hot, water because it can wash the saliva, bacteria, and food particles away.

-Soak your aligner regularly to keep it clean. You can soak it in the specialized cleaning crystals or in denture cleaner.

-Brush your aligner when you brush your teeth. As you clean it, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear, antibacterial soap. This can help you remove the plaque and bacteria that have gathered on the appliance throughout the day. Be careful not to brush too hard.

-Clean your teeth by brushing and flossing regularly throughout the day, like after each time you eat. This is important because if you don’t, dental issues could develop. This is because the aligner traps food particles and bacteria over your teeth, encouraging cavities and other problems to occur.
